A Peonies Toshogu Shrine

Constructed in 1627, the Toshogu Shrine was built in honour of Ieyasu Tokugawa, the first Shogun of the Edo government. Every spring, about 200 varieties of peonies bloom in the garden of Toshogu Shrine.
