Fontaine Stravinsky: Pierre Boulez, founder and director of IRCAM, was the originator of this Fountain ordered by Jacques Chirac, mayor of Paris, to honour Igor Stravinsky. Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint-Phalle were officially designated artists in September 1982. Inaugurated in March 1983, the Stravinsky Fountain is principally composed of sculptures in aluminium and steel painted black, as well as electric motors.

Located next to the Centre Georges Pompidou, sixteen mechanical sculptures gyrate to Igor Stravinsky’s music.
